Starts Fall 2026! Join us each week to learn about engineering through hands-on activities and games! Students will design, build, operate, trouble-shoot, and improve their creations. This course will teach students to apply what they know about science to create real, working machines.

• Target grades: Upper Elementary and Middle school
• Pre-requisites: Friday science
• Length of the whole class: 32 weeks, 8 units (4 sessions per unit)
• Length of sessions: 1 hour
• Homework: Students will be given worksheets to take home each week. The worksheets are optional and completion is not necessary to participate in the class.
• Required materials: none
• Location: Gibeon Education Office in Midland, Mi

This class is designed to be flexible and so has three registration options! Register per unit, for the whole semester, or for the entire (academic) year.

• Option 1: $80 per unit
• Option 2: $304 per semester (5% discount)
• Option 3: $576 per year (10% discount)

Take the stress out of learning math this year and join us in our interactive exploration of Algebra II! We will cover 4 chapters of the text book each week.  The first few lessons review algebra I topics and there will be review built in throughout the course.  Saxon algebra II incorporates geometry and trigonometry topics and is great preparation for both SAT and Calculus/Advanced math. Our Algebra teacher, Tracey, has been teaching algebra for 30 years and takes time to help students with any underlying math-concept problems.  Classes will be interactive and engaging, with opportunities for students to discuss any homework difficulties.

• Pre-requisites: Algebra I
• Length of the whole class: 32 weeks
• Length of sessions: 1.5 hour
• Homework: Gibeon Education will grade tests and projects. A grade sheet will be given to parents at the mid-term and end of the course. Homework concepts will be reviewed as a whole class during the session. Parents are responsible for the grading of their student’s homework.
• Required materials: Saxon Algebra II 3rd edition textbook and solutions manual
• Location: Gibeon Education Office in Midland, Mi

Home-school kit (textbook, solutions manual, test packets, and DVDs of lessons) can be purchased here. Only the textbook and solutions manual need to be purchased for this course.

• total cost: $16/hour per student
• deposit: a $50 deposit will be required to secure a place on this course. The $50 will be paid towards the total cost.
• Payment options: monthly, per semester or per year (5% discount). Regardless of payment option chosen, all students will be committed to registering for the whole year.

Join us this fall to learn about the building blocks that make up everything! This class and lab will explore atoms, molecules, cells, organs, organisms, and ecosystems. Both the class and the lab will include hands-on activities and project-based learning that will aim at teaching students how the principles learned in class play out in the real world. Our science teacher, Emily, has degrees in chemistry, neuroscience, and teaching. Emily has experience breaking big science ideas into bite-sized pieces, then connecting those pieces to existing knowledge to make abstract concepts real and meaningful.

• Target grades: Middle school
• Pre-requisites: none
• Length of the whole class: 32 weeks
• Length of sessions: 1 hour (classes and labs are both considered sessions)
• Homework: Homework will include worksheets, ‘On-your-own’ questions from the textbook, tests, and projects. All homework and tests will be graded by the teacher. A mid-term/end-of-year grade report will be made for each student and given to parents at the end of each semester.
